Waiting for the G
The subway platform is a theatrical and performative space. It's a place of waiting and watching. People waiting stare across the darkness at the stage opposite them, forgetting that they stand upon a stage themselves.
Waiting for Godot is a play which mostly consists of a single dialogue between two characters — Vladimir and Estragon — who are waiting incessantly for Godot, who never comes. I wanted to see the play performed here on these facing stages.
Projection Test I haven't been able to get a projector down into a subwaystation, so in addition to digital mockups, I did slide projections outdoors
with a back wall to simulate the space. It happened to be snowing.
Breathing Text (Serendipity) It snowed when I did my screen tests, and it was cold enough to see our breath catch the light mid-air.
